Toddler Mittens

Toddler Mittens

I’ve made mittens before for my children but I wanted ones that had more chance of staying on! And so this pattern was developed – I’ve made the cuff extra long so that the mittens can be worn up the arms (for warmth, but also so that they stay on little hands better). If you don’t want the length up the arm, then simply fold down the cuff. The join at the tip of the fingers is done by grafting the open stitches together, so that there aren’t any big seams to rub against. The Regia yarn is lightweight, hard wearing and, most importantly, warm. I know my youngest currently loves wearing these, I hope your little one loves them too.

Materials used:

  • 1 ball Regia 4ply
  • Set of 2.5mm double pointed needles (UK 13) (US 1)
  • Set of 2.75mm double pointed needles (UK 12) (US2)
